UNIONDALE, N.Y. — The Island FC on Thursday announced the hiring of Travis Lamprecht as president of business operations.

A seasoned executive with experience across multiple levels of the professional game, Lamprecht will lead the club’s commercial and business operations—overseeing revenue strategy, partnerships, and organizational growth, while also helping shape its brand and community presence.

“From the outset, our goal has been to build a club that reflects the energy, identity, and resiliency of Long Island,” The Island FC principal owner and chairman Mitchell Rechler said in a statement. “Travis brings the experience and leadership needed to help turn that vision into reality. He understands how to build professional soccer clubs the right way, and we are excited to welcome him as an important part of what we are creating here.”

Added Lamprecht: “I’m incredibly excited to join The Island FC at such a pivotal time. To have the opportunity to help build a club here on Long Island, in a community that I connect with, is truly special. Lamprecht brings more than a decade of experience across nearly every level of professional soccer, having held leadership roles with several clubs. That includes San Diego FC of Major League Soccer, San Diego Loyal SC, Memphis 901 FC, and the United Soccer League. He has worked alongside some of the most respected figures in the sport, including U.S. men’s national team legends Landon Donovan and Tim Howard, while helping to elevate clubs in markets across the country. A native of Queens, N.Y., Lamprecht has returned home, bringing his experience in brand development, marketing, community engagement, and business operations to further strengthen The Island FC.

“Adding Travis to our leadership team is a significant step forward for the club,” The Island FC team president Peter Zaratin said in a statement. “He brings a strong understanding of how to build and operate a successful organization, and understands the importance of integrating a strong youth development foundation with the launch of a professional club. His experience and perspective will be critical as we continue to grow and establish The Island FC.”

The Island FC will kick off in MLS NEXT Pro in 2027.
