Police from the 102nd Precinct in Richmond Hill are looking for a woman who allegedly stabbed a J train rider near the 111th Street subway station during the afternoon of Saturday, May 9.
The 32-year-old male victim was riding in a Manhattan-bound J train just before 3:30 p.m. when the suspect approached him and stabbed him twice in the right leg with an unknown sharp object, police said Wednesday, adding that the motive behind the assault is still under investigation. His assailant fled the station onto Jamaica Avenue and ran off in an unknown direction.
EMS transported the wounded man to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect and described her as having a dark complexion with long brown hair. She wore a black hooded jacket and a dark-colored tote bag.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to her arrest and indictment.

Through May 10, the 102nd Precinct has reported 123 felony assaults so far in 2026, 19 more than the 104 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 18.3%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Transit crimes are also on the rise in the precinct with four reported so far this year, one more than the four reported at the same point in 2025, an increase of 33.3%, according to CompStat.
