An electrical fire erupted on the Amtrak tracks at Penn Station Thursday morning, snarling service into the major Midtown hub, officials said.
The cable feeder fire broke out around 11:20 a.m. on the tracks inside the highly trafficked station, spreading to the wall, according to the FDNY.
A total of 26 FDNY units responded, drawing 84 firefighters and EMS workers to the scene, the department said.

Delays, cancellations and skipped stops were reported on multiple LIRR lines as a result of the fire, according to the MTA’s website. CBS New York
No injuries were immediately reported.
The blaze erupted on the Amtrak line, where all traffic heading southbound into Penn Station was temporarily stopped, Amtrak Northeast posted on X.
Service resumed by the afternoon, but Amtrak advised passengers to expect up to hour-long delays for the rest of the day because of rail congestion in the Penn Station area.
Meanwhile, LIRR service was also impacted by the fire, with delays, cancellations and skipped stops reported on multiple lines, according to the MTA’s website.
