A 35-year-old man was slashed in the neck with a box cutter inside a Times Square subway station early Friday — the second slashing in the city’s railways in 10 hours, police said.
The victim was inside the 49th St. Subway station near Seventh Ave. just before 1 a.m. when he got into an argument with another man.
During the fight, the suspect pulled out a box cutter and cut the left side of the victim’s neck before running out of the station, cops said.
Bleeding, the victim jumped on a southbound Q train and took the train two stops to the 34th St. station, where he ran up to a cop on patrol nearby and asked for help.
EMS rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was expected to survive.
It was not immediately disclosed what the two men were arguing about.
Cops were scouring the area looking for surveillance footage that can help them track the slasher down. No arrests have been made.
Roughly 10 hours earlier in Queens, a 65-year-old man was slashed in the face during a fight with another straphanger on a No. 7 train rumbling into the 33rd St.-Rawson St. station in Sunnyside.
The victim was riding the train at about 3:15 p.m. when he got into an argument with Stephen LaMarch.
During the argument, LaMarch, 44, pulled a knife and slashed the older victim in the face, cops said.
When the train entered the 33rd St. station, cops were called and LaMarch was taken into custody, charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
His victim was taken to Mount Sinai Queens, where he was treated and released.
LaMarch’s arraignment in Queens Criminal Court was pending Friday.
