BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A man is being sought in connection with an attempted rape at a popular New York City park on Friday, police say.

At around 7 p.m., a 26-year-old female was walking inside Prospect Park when a man approached her from behind.

The man is accused of wrapping his arms around the victim and attempting to sexually assault her while exposing himself, according to police.

The victim was able to free herself, and the man fled on foot, according to authorities.

No injuries were reported as a result of the attempted rape.

Police describe the man as around five 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, and a black baseball cap.
