New York State Police to honor troopers who died in line of duty at Canandaigua ceremony

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — New York State Police will hold a special ceremony this week to honor troopers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

A Memorial Day service will happen Tuesday morning at the Troop E headquarters in Canandaigua. The ceremony is held a week before Memorial Day each year to line up with National Police Week.

Last year’s ceremony included a reading of names for all the troopers who died in the line of duty and those who died following the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
