Fire marshals are investigating multiple Brooklyn fires that broke out over the weekend, including back-to-back blazes in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Saturday.
Firefighters first responded just after 12:45 p.m. to an apartment fire at 210 Stuyvesant Ave. near Gates Avenue in Bed-Stuy. Units from the 57th Battalion arrived to find fire in an apartment and quickly deployed two hoselines to bring the main body of the fire under control. Searches of the building did not find anyone inside.
Less than two hours later, at about 2:25 p.m., crews were dispatched to a second fire in the same neighborhood at 1164 Fulton St. Engine Company 235 requested a second alarm after encountering heavy fire on a top-floor apartment and smoke in the cockloft, the space between the roof and ceiling. More than 100 firefighters responded and used four hoselines to extinguish the main body of the fire.

Hours later, in Sheepshead Bay, Engine Company 253 and Tower Ladder 172 responded just after 7 p.m. to smoke coming from a commercial laundromat. The 33rd Battalion transmitted a second alarm to bring additional resources to the scene.
Another fire was reported later in the night at 879 East 37th St. in Flatbush. Units arrived just after 11:35 p.m. to find fire in the attic of a two-and-a-half-story wood-frame home. About 60 firefighters used two hoselines to bring the blaze under control before midnight.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, which remain under investigation.
