Rihanna and ASAP Rocky hosted a party Wednesday night at Manhattan’s Sloomoo Institute to celebrate the fourth birthday of their oldest son, RZA.

The 38-year-old singer was seen holding RZA, while the 37-year-old rapper held balloons and decorations. RZA sported cartoon-print pants, a tie-dye sweatshirt, and sneakers. He clutched a toy and kept his pacifier close.

Monica Braithwaite, RZA’s grandmother, clasped her grandson’s hand on their way out. The other two kids joined in, too. A friend of the family toted Riot Rose Mayers, 2, while ASAP Rocky lugged baby Rocki Irish Mayers, 8 months old, in her car seat.

RZA Athelston Mayers was born on May 13, 2022. His name honors the founder of Wu-Tang Clan. ASAP Rocky hid the name for almost a year, then shared it in 2023 when RZA turned one.

“‘WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN’ HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN . RZA,” the rapper wrote at the time, according to bck.

Both parents say their oldest has a quiet nature. ASAP Rocky discussed RZA during a January 2026 appearance on The New York Times’ Popcast.

“You know, my first son, RZA, he’s just really like, he’s [the] opposite of his brother, the 3-year-old and the 2-year-old,” ASAP Rocky shared. “They’re about 14 months apart. So, they’re really close, but he’s really antisocial.”

The rapper dropped another surprise about his son. “My first son never ate candy a day in his life and hates it,” he said.

Rihanna opened up about RZA’s traits in a 2025 interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “RZA is just an empath,” she said. “He’s so magical. He loves music. He loves melody. He loves books. He loves water. Bath time, swimming, pool, beach, anything.”

The couple got fresh ink not long ago. Celebrity tattoo artist Keith Scott ‘Bang Bang’ McCurdy stamped her children’s doodles onto the back of her knee.
