Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced he’s doubling the number of 3-K seats to be added across the five boroughs.
New York City is now set to add 2,000 new 3-K seats across 56 zip codes.
As part of the rollout, the city announced it will also launch an equitable waitlist process.
According to the city, this will allow families to express interest in newly added sites, along with prioritizing family choice, sibling preference and proximity to programs.
The administration also announced the opening of a previously vacant childcare center at 129 Van Brunt Street in Brooklyn.
