Brooklyn Storehouse has announced plans to close later this year.
In a statement shared to Instagram last Friday, May 15th, the venue said it was conceived as a “meanwhile project” inside the Brooklyn Navy Yard, with a tenancy that was “always time-limited.” The site will now be repurposed by the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation for “climate infrastructure and clean energy production” as part of wider redevelopment plans.
The operators added that the closure reflects the “inherently temporary” nature of working with adaptive industrial spaces. Brooklyn Storehouse’s final run of events will culminate in a Halloween weekend closing party. Highlights before then include sets from Beltran, Four Tet and a b2b from Luke Dean_ and Max Dean.
Launched in 2024 by TCE Presents and Broadwick Live, Brooklyn Storehouse is a 100,000-square-foot warehouse space geared towards large-scale concerts, club nights and cultural events. CamelPhat, Carl Cox and Marco Carola are among the recent bookings.
