The New York Giants will enter the 2026 campaign with an elite young core on both the offensive and defensive sides of the football.

The Giants were able to reload in both free agency and the 2026 NFL draft this offseason, as New York will have a plethora of new faces both on the roster and coaching staff this year. The G-men will have the ninth-hardest schedule in 2026 according to the NFL’s strength of schedule, and New York as a whole will be tested instantly in a primetime matchup with the Dallas Cowboys during Week 1.

But how will the Giants fare as a whole? Several team beat writers and analysts have begun making their early picks,

Ryan Dunleavy, New York Post: 7-10

“My early Giants record projection is 7-10,” he wrote. “Subject to change and locked in after training camp. That’s the highest win total I’ve projected in 9 years covering the team.

“Wins: Cowboys, Titans, Cardinals, Commanders, Colts, Browns, Eagles.”

7-10 would ultimately be a disappointment for the Giants despite it being the best record the team has seen since 2022. Star quarterback Jaxon Dart and the rest of New York’s offense will need to be at their best weekly, while the Giants’ young core on defense will be tested often.

Ian O’Connor, The Athletic: 10-7

O’Connor predicts the Giants will have their first 10-win season since 2016. The analyst believes the Harbaugh era will get off to an excellent start in New York, as O’Connor originally predicted an 8-9 record for the Giants in 2026 before changing his mind.

O’Connor’s prediction could quickly prove to be true in 2026, and the Giants’ reloaded roster will look to make noise around the NFL all season.

Patricia Traina, Sports Illustrated: 9-8

Sports Illustrated’s Patricia Traina believes the Giants will end the 2026 campaign with an overall record of 9-8. Nine wins would be a massive improvement from 2025, and Traina credits the hiring of head coach John Harbaugh as the team’s biggest X-factor entering the season.

A 9-8 record at the end of the year would ultimately be a step in the right direction for the G-men, and Trainia’s prediction comes as no surprise at all.

Lucas Hutcherson, SNY: 9-8

Hutcherson believes the Giants will end the 2026 season with a record of 9-8 in a similar fashion to Trainia’s prediction. A plethora of analysts around the NFL world predict the Giants to end the year at 9-8, as a major reload in both free agency and the NFL draft this offseason has caused New York’s stock to rise drastically.

Harbaugh would more than likely play a direct role in the Giants’ success should they end the year with a 9-8 record, as Hutcherson believes New York will be on the rise in 2026.

Ralph Vacchiano, FOX Sports: 7-10

FOX Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano predicts the Giants to slightly improve in 2026. Seven wins would be a disappointing start to the Harbaugh era in New York, but the margin would still be a major improvement compared to last season’s win total of four.

A final record of 7-10 would provide fans with the most competitive season of Giants’ football in over three years, as Vacchiano believes New York is headed in the right direction nonetheless.

Gary Davenport, Bleacher Report: 9-8

Davenport believes the Giants could end the season on the fringe of wild-card contention with an overall record of 9-8. 9-8 would ultimately be a successful first season in New York for coach Harbaugh, and Davenport predicts the Giants to be far more competitive in 2026, as opposed to recent years.

Harbaugh will begin his first year as the Giants’ head coach with some massive expectations, but 9-8 would undoubtedly be considered a success this season.
