GRAND ARMY PLAZA — ON MAY 31, the Brooklyn Public Library will welcome author, professor and activist Angela Davis as the special guest for a milestone edition of the Kahn Humanities Series.
In a turn from the usual speaker model, Davis will be joined by author and New Yorker writer Jelani Cobb in a close reading of the Declaration of Independence for its 250th anniversary. The annual Kahn Humanities Series welcomes thinkers and activists working in the humanities to offer insight into the current moment. Past speakers have included novelist Amitav Ghosh, author M. Gessen and most recently, court scholar Elie Mystal.
The event is free but requires an RSVP at the BPL website. Though it is currently full, the library may release more seats this week.
