Congresswoman Meng met with Artemis II crew members Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen to recognize their achievements and discuss the future of American space exploration.
U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens), the top Democrat on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science, met with Artemis II astronauts on Capitol Hill to celebrate their recent historic mission around the moon. The subcommittee oversees federal funding for NASA.
During the visit, Meng met with Artemis II crew members Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen to recognize their achievements and discuss the future of American space exploration.
“Accomplishments like the Artemis II mission are the result of decades of hard work, dedication, leadership, and consistent federal investment in space exploration— funding I have been proud to champion as a leader on the House Appropriations Committee,” said Congresswoman Meng. “The entire world was watching as the Artemis II crew successfully traveled around the moon and returned safely to Earth last month. They are an inspiration to young people in Queens and across the country who dream of reaching the stars one day. Missions like this show why America remains at the forefront of science, technology, and innovation. It was an honor to meet this remarkable crew and celebrate the history they made this year. I will keep fighting for the resources NASA needs to support missions like these and to advance American leadership and scientific research for years to come.”
