THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A school bus fell into a sinkhole in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The bus was trapped when the rear tire got stuck in the sinkhole near 1122 East 180th Street and Bronx Park Avenue at around 1:35 p.m., according to the FDNY.

One person was taken to the hospital for treatment, the FDNY said. It was unclear how many people were on the bus.

Earlier on Wednesday, flights to LaGuardia Airport were delayed over an hour after a sinkhole was found on one of the runways, according to the Port Authority.

Officials said the sinkhole was discovered near Runway 4/22 during a morning inspection of LaGuardia’s airfield. The runway was immediately shut down for emergency construction.
