QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A teen was shot in broad daylight in the Springfield Gardens section of Queens on Wednesday, according to the NYPD.

Police said an 18-year-old boy was shot in the left leg in front of a Queens home at 177-05 145th Dr. just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

He was taken to the hospital to be treated and police said he is expected to be okay.

Sources told PIX11 News that a suspect was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, white sneakers and fled on a scooter.

Police are canvassing the area and no arrests have been made. There was not a known reason as to what led to the shooting.
