Two men died in New York City after flash flooding inundated basements across the five boroughs following sudden, heavy rainfall that overwhelmed drainage systems and brought chaos to the metropolitan area.
Shortly after 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, emergency crews were called to a building on Kingston Avenue in Brooklyn, where firefighters in scuba gear found a 39-year-old man unconscious in the water, the police said. He was taken to Kings County Hospital and pronounced dead a little before 6 p.m.
