City Comptroller Mark Levine issued a report Thursday outlining the potential impacts of artificial intelligence on the New York economy.

He’s calling on lawmakers to invest in a rainy day fund, urging that 16% of tax revenue be set aside due to the “Possible Economic Shocks and Loss of Revenue,” which the report says threaten vital city services.

Levine joined “The Rush Hour” on Thursday to discuss the report.

“This AI bubble could burst, and if that happens because New York City is so tied to finances,” Levine said, “What we can do is prepare. And if there’s one thing that people can agree on, it’s if you have uncertainty ahead: start to build up your reserves.”
