About the Featured photo:
The story of the featured photo: Bill Rodgers won NYC Marathon in 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979. In 1976, Bill Rodgers told me this story on Thursday night. Bill was smiling, about how his car was towed while he was winning the NYC marathon in 1976! Race Director Fred Lebow had to use his Romanian charm to get the car released and then pay the bill for Bill Rodgers. Ah, good memories! “Fred Lebow was a good guy, he did a lot for the sport! ”
