New federal funding is coming to both Chautauqua County-Dunkirk Airport and Wellsville Municipal Airport-Tarantine Field, Republican U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy announced Friday.

As part of the funding, Chautauqua County-Dunkirk Airport will receive $237,500 to fund the final phase of a project to reconstruct three existing airport access gates and $459,800 will head to Wellsville Municipal Airport-Tarantine Field to fund the final phase of a project to reconstruct a 15,000-square-foot airport-owned hangar.

“Regional airports are vital economic assets that support local businesses, emergency services, tourism, workforce development, and economic growth,” Langworthy said. “This investment will help modernize our critical infrastructure, improve airport operations, and ensure these facilities continue serving our communities for years to come.”

Funding is provided through the FAA’s Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Improvement Grant program.
