CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Two workers from the New York City Department of Sanitation were injured when a garbage truck caught fire in Brooklyn on Friday, according to the FDNY.

Both workers were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries after the truck fire broke out near the intersection of Dearborn Court and Montgomery Street just after 12 p.m., fire officials said.

Citizen App video from the scene appeared to show piles of garbage on the street near the sanitation truck.

The cause of the fire and further details on the condition of the sanitation workers were not immediately made known.
