AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view takes place on Sunday night (May 24) at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
President Tony Khan usually has a surprise or three up his sleeve at AEW’s pay-per-view events, and his latest one in NYC may involve Wardlow. Fightful Select reports that the former 3-time TNT Champion is in town this weekend. That doesn’t necessarily mean there are plans for him to appear on the card, as Wardlow has also been backstage at some other AEW events while out injured. However, the big man himself did recently say that he is very close to returning.
Wardlow has been off AEW programming since he suffered an injury last August. He just returned to AEW at that month’s Forbidden Door PPV to join the Don Callis Family and help Kazuchika Okada defeat Swerve Strickland. The injury immediately took him off the board before there was any follow up to the angle. Perhaps he will be on hand at Double or Nothing to help Okada screw over Konosuke Takeshita, if the other 347 members of Don’s Family don’t get involved first.
