MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A car theft and damage to the vehicle resulted in a loss of nearly $15,000 over the weekend in Manhattan, officials said.
The incident was reported around 11 a.m. Sunday in the 4400 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard, on the north edge of Manhattan.
Riley County police officers filed a report of theft of property or services and criminal damage to property in connection with the incident.

A 29-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported that an unknown person entered her 2019 Kia Sportage and tampered with the ignition to steal the car.
The vehicle was later recovered and returned to the victim.
The total estimated loss associated with this case is $14,900.
No arrests had been reported as of Tuesday morning.
