One of the most fun things to do during summer is enjoying an outdoor movie under the stars, and Hudson County has that covered with its annual Movies Under the Stars series in Hoboken and Jersey City. These events are going to return this summer 2026, so be sure to have your blanket + picnic dinner ready. City of Hoboken
The City of Hoboken has not yet announced its Movies Under the Stars lineup for summer 2026, but this article will be updated as more information is received. Last year’s event featured movies such as Crooklyn, Selena, and Downton Abbey.

Historic Downtown Jersey City
Historic Downtown Jersey City is also starting a “Movies on the Plaza” series, with free movie showings throughout the summer from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM at Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza. Movies will start around 8:00 PM. It is advised to arrive early and bring a chair.
