An eerie look inside Staten Island’s long-vacant historic Wrigley building shows the old factory before renovation. The building at 191 Edgewater St. in Rosebank is set for a high-rise conversion with 110 residential units. Photos show the original four-story factory, built in 1917, and a seven-story addition from 1926. Plans also call for the site to become a new development after years of attempts to repurpose it. Inside, graffiti, debris, tools, and an ajar door add to the abandoned feel of the vacant site. The Wrigley building closed in 1949, and its twin smokestacks were demolished on May 6, 1986.
