New York State Assembly Republican Leader Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski) today gave his enthusiastic endorsement to Oswego County Clerk Terry Wilbur for his re-election campaign. Willbur, who has served as County Clerk since 2022, is seeking his second term in office.
“From his first day on the job, Terry Wilbur’s commitment to our community has been evident in the tremendous work he’s done as our county clerk,” Barclay said. “His deep roots in Oswego County, the knowledge and experience he brings to work every day, and his passion for public service make him indispensable. Terry is the clear choice on Election Day and I’m proud to support his re-election.”
“I want to thank Assembly Republican Leader Will Barclay for his support, and I profoundly appreciate his endorsement,” Wilbur said. “I’ve spent my life in Oswego County, and it’s been a privilege to serve the people of this incredible community. Our team has worked hard to provide quality, professional service to every person who walks through our door, and that will always be our mission.
Wilbur was first elected in November 2021. During his tenure, the Oswego County Clerk’s Office has implemented measures to streamline operations while improving the quality of services for residents. Some of these initiatives include:
Creating a new digitalized archive system for all county deeds;
Enhanced transactions between the Department of Motor Vehicles and local car dealers to improve speed and accuracy;
Strengthening data security and fraud-protection features in the clerk’s online transaction system; and
Expediting the pistol permit amendment and relicensing processes.
