N.J. man shot and killed in NYC, cops say

A 29-year-old New Jersey man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in New York City, authorities said.

Jonathan Valentin was shot once in the chest at 12:15 a.m. on the 2200 block of Haviland Avenue in the Bronx, the NYPD said.

Valentin, of Maywood, was taken in a private vehicle to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

The shooting took place outside an apartment building, NYDailyNews.com reported.
