Police are investigating after puzzling footage posted online shows a group of men emerging from a manhole in Brooklyn early Friday morning.
Video obtained by the Flatbush Scoop shows seven men climbing out of the manhole under the elevated F train tracks on McDonald Ave. near Colin Place in Gravesend shortly after 2 a.m.
Before the group emerges onto the street, the video shows an eighth man already topside exit a nearby parked car and walk into the street toward the manhole, where he appears to alert the men below that it’s safe to climb up.
Once they get onto the sidewalk, the men, some wearing masks, can be seen dropping equipment and stripping off a layer of clothes, gloves and, in some cases, waders held up by suspenders.
An NYPD spokesman confirmed police are investigating the incident, but said there is no cause for public alarm.
