New York Harbor will transform into a racetrack of sorts the last weekend of May. The annual New York Sail Grand Prix returns to the city on May 30 and May 31.
The event brings some of the world’s top athletes to the harbor as teams race 50-foot boats at speeds over 60 miles per hour.
Andrew Thompson, managing director of Sail GP, and and Swiss racer Seb Schneiter joined Shannan Ferry on “News All Day” to share what people can expect.
The event starts getting underway around 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Races begin around 3:30 p.m.
