State Police say they issued more than 11,000 tickets statewide during the Memorial Day Weekend enforcement campaign.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — State Police say they issued more than 11,000 tickets statewide during the Memorial Day Weekend enforcement campaign.

More than 1,200 of those were here in the Finger Lakes Region. The majority were for speeding or seat belt violations.

Troopers say a total of 205 people were arrested for DWI statewide.

During last year’s enforcement campaign, State Police say they issued over 12,000 tickets statewide and arrested 245 people for DWI
