Scene… The 2026 annual Malta House Gala took place on May 8 at Woodway Country Club in Darien. “The enthusiasm, generosity and compassion shown throughout the evening was extraordinary,” said Michael O’Rourke, Malta House board chair and co-founder. “The support we received will help us continue building a place of refuge, renewal and opportunity for women and their children.” Since its inception in 1998, Malta House has offered shelter, stability and hope for over 900 vulnerable mothers and their babies. O’Rourke and his wife A.C. O’Rourke, Stamford residents, were seen over the holiday weekend with good friends at Louie’s Italian Restaurant & Bar on River Road in Cos Cob. 

Scene… NBA All-Star and Cleveland Cavalier’s guard Donovan Mitchell was seen grabbing lunch at Rinaldi’s Country Deli in Cos Cob last week. Mitchell, a Greenwich Country Day School graduate, is a huge benefactor of the school, resulting in the Donovan Mitchell Family Athletic Center on its campus. His mother, Nicole Mitchell, also taught school there for over 10 years. 

Out there… The Woman’s Club of Greenwich is hosting a concert on the lawn on Friday, June 5, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to benefit the Greenwich Scholarship Association, dedicated to helping students achieve a college education. The evening will feature live music by the popular local band Chasing Romeo on the lawn of the Woman’s Club at 89 Maple Ave. Bring lawn chairs, food and drink. Doors open at 5:30. Scene… Some New York Knicks stars were out and about in Westchester County, N.Y., last week. Forward Josh Hart was seen with his wife, Shannon, at Café Deux in Harrison, and guard Jordan Clarkson was seen having lunch at Kee Oyster House in White Plains.

Out there… The Friends of the Wallace Center are hosting a fundraiser happy hour at Caren’s Cos Cobber on Monday, June 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. to coincide with National “Best Friends Day.” Each attendee will receive a ticket for a change to win fun door prizes. Supporters can enjoy drinks, appetizer specials, and prize drawings. The Friends of the Wallace Center, a nonprofit organization, provides supplemental financial support to The Wallace Center, Greenwich’s senior center, and is currently raising funds for its renovation to create a more functional and welcoming space to better serve the community and provide a variety of programs for healthy living and purposeful aging for Greenwich adults ages 55 and up. Beverage proceeds from the event will be donated to Friends of The Wallace Center.

Out there… The Riverside Garden Club is offering tours of the Colonial herb garden at Putnam Cottage on 243 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich on Sunday, June 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will feature light refreshments and Two Roads Brewery of Stratford will brew ale using hops grown in the garden at Putnam Cottage (Knapps Tavern) that the Riverside Garden Club restored.
