QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — An FDNY firefighter is accused of punching an NYPD officer in the face in a Queens hospital on Wednesday night, authorities said.

Firefighter Abel Sencion, 34, allegedly attacked the 32-year-old cop at Queens General Hospital on 184th Street just before 10 p.m., according to the complaint.

The officer was punched in the face and treated for redness and swelling at the same hospital, prosecutors said.

Sencion and the cop do not know each other, and the motive was unclear, according to sources. Both city workers were on duty at the time of the alleged assault.

Sencion was arrested and charged with assault, police said. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail after his arraignment on Thursday, according to court records.

He is due back on court on Tuesday.

His attorney could not immediately be reached.
