All New York City public schools will be closed for one day next week — but some students will also have off an additional day from school.

All public schools will be closed to students on Thursday, June 4, for Anniversary Day/Chancellor’s Conference Day for staff development. This means only school staff will be required to go into buildings, while students will have the day off.

Additionally, some students in public schools won’t head to class on Friday, June 5. The date is a Clerical Day in the city Department of Education’s school calendar.

This means there are no classes for students attending 3-K, pre-K, elementary schools, middle schools, K-12 schools, and standalone District 75 programs.

There is only one additional day off for public schools before the end of the school year — on Friday, June 19 for Juneteenth.

The last day of classes is Friday, June 26.

The public school academic calendar includes some two dozen days off between the first day and the last day of classes.
