With Ghostbusters Day 2026 set for next weekend, the Buffalo Ghostbusters have announced the return of one of the celebration’s most popular traditions: the annual Ghostbusters Film Location Walking Tour through New York City, taking place on June 6th.
Hosted by the NYC Ghostbusters, the guided excursion will once again give attendees the opportunity to visit several of the franchise’s most recognizable filming locations, beginning outside Hook & Ladder 8 in Lower Manhattan before making its way across the city to the New York Public Library, Columbus Circle, 55 Central Park West, and Tavern on the Green. The tour is expected to depart at approximately 3:30 PM, with organizers noting that last year’s outing lasted roughly four hours.
In addition to the walking portions, those planning to take part should be prepared for three subway trips throughout the afternoon. Organizers are encouraging attendees to arrange their preferred fare payment method before the tour begins, whether through a contactless credit or debit card, smartphone payment, or an OMNY card purchased or reloaded at a subway station.
The walking tour announcement follows yesterday’s headline, which Ghost Corps confirmed that filmmakers Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan will attend the celebration outside New York City’s iconic Hook & Ladder 8, joining fans from around the world for what has become the franchise’s largest annual gathering.
Confirmed thus far, the day will feature live music, the arrival of an Ecto-1, special guests, and, according to yesterday’s announcement, “a few surprises.” Reitman and Kenan are also scheduled to take part in a Ghostbusters Give Back check presentation to recognize the charitable efforts of Ghostbusters fan groups and community members in support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
