Brooklyn (8 points), which is in 12th place in the Eastern Conference, moved to 2-7-2. Sporting JAX (3), which is just below the team in the cellar, is still winless (0-8-3).

The visitors grabbed a 2-0 lead but could not hold onto it.

The first goal came in the eighth minute from midfielder Peter Mangione as he scored first goal for the club and in the USL Championship. A cross from CJ Olney found Juan Carlos Obregon, whose shot was saved by goalkeeper Christian Olivares. Mangione tapped in the rebound.

Brooklyn’s pressure continued, which resulted in its second goal in the 23rd minute. An interception from defender Vuk Latinovich led to a breakaway. Another cross from Olney found its target in Stefan Stojanovic, who headed in for his third goal of the campaign.

Around the 75th minute, rain began to fall and the game was delayed due to lightning in the area. The weather showed no signs of changing and eventually, the match was abandoned.
