Voters in the Village of Kings Point will head to the polls Tuesday, June 16, to fill three village offices — mayor and two trustee seats — with three candidates running unopposed on the village ticket.
Incumbent Trustee Shahriar “Ebi” Victory is seeking election as mayor, while incumbent Trustee Tedi Kashinejad is running for another trustee term. They are joined by Payam Kermanian, chairman of the village’s Enhancement Committee, who is seeking his first elected office as a trustee.
The election follows Mayor Kouros Torkan’s decision not to seek another term. Torkan did not respond to requests for comment regarding his decision.

Shahriar “Ebi” Victory

Victory, 63, has lived in Kings Point for 26 years and has served as a village trustee for the past four years. Before joining the board, he spent five years on the village’s Architectural Review Board. He also serves on several county and town committees, including Nassau County’s NICE Bus oversight committee and the Town of North Hempstead’s nitrogen reduction committee.
A business owner with property management experience, Victory said he is proud of the board’s accomplishments under Torkan’s leadership, including lowering village taxes for two consecutive years, modernizing permit applications, upgrading public safety technology and improving village services.
“A lot of things that we are doing in Kings Point benefit the entire peninsula,” Victory said.
If elected mayor, Victory said his priorities would include further digitizing village operations, adding staff to the public works and building department, simplifying building codes and pursuing grants for drainage, lighting and infrastructure improvements.
Tedi Kashinejad

Kashinejad, 56, has served as a trustee for four years and previously served on planning and architectural review boards in the Great Neck area. He works in real estate development, interior design and consulting.
Kashinejad said one of the board’s most significant ongoing projects has been moving village applications and reviews to a digital platform, allowing residents, architects and village officials to access plans electronically.
“I think that once it’s completed, it’s going to be one of the biggest advantages that both the applicants and the building department will have,” he said.
Kashinejad emphasized that village accomplishments have been the result of collaboration among board members rather than individual efforts.
“My vision is not my vision. It’s the vision of the entire board,” he said.

Payam Kermanian

Kermanian, 44, is making his first run for elected office after serving as chairman of the village’s Enhancement Committee since 2022 and, more recently, on the Architectural Review Board. He works in the mobile telecommunications industry and also has experience in real estate development.
Kermanian said he has helped oversee upgrades to the village’s technology systems, including security cameras, servers, Wi-Fi networks, software platforms and digital tools for village departments.
“The reason I’m running for trustee is because I see all the great things that we’ve done and what more there can be to be done,” Kermanian said.
If elected, Kermanian said he hopes to continue modernizing village operations while helping unite residents around a shared commitment to the community and its future.
Polls will be open June 16 at village hall.
