Beckham last played for the Giants on Dec. 2, 2018, a 30-27 overtime victory over the Bears at MetLife Stadium. The final catch he made was a one-yard touchdown from Eli Manning late in the third quarter. Manning played his final game a year later on the same field.
Beckham – in 13 games – finished 2018 with 1,000 yards for the fourth time in his five-year Giants career. The Giants did not have another 1,000-yard receiver until Malik Nabers, another first-round choice from LSU, recorded 1,204 yards as a rookie in 2024.
Beckham played with four other NFL teams in between stints with the Giants. He recorded his fifth and most recent 1,000-yard season with the Browns in 2019 but was released midway through the 2021 season. Beckham was picked up by the Los Angeles Rams and scored the first points in their Super Bowl LVI victory. The ring didn’t come without a price, however, as Beckham suffered a torn ACL in the game.
Beckham moved onto Baltimore and then Miami, where he played his most recent NFL game on Dec. 8, 2024.
Overall, his career totals 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns. The 2013 winner of the Paul Hornung Award, which is given annually to college football’s most versatile player, has also thrown two touchdowns and run for another score.
“The thing I love about Odell is right now he’s in such a good place in terms of his humility,” John Harbaugh, who coached Beckham for one season (2023) in Baltimore, said in April when the receiver worked out for the first time leading up to the draft. “He wants to be part of a team. He wants to contribute. He wants to help the young guys. That’s what he’s talking about doing. He still thinks he has some juice, and he looked good in the workout. You still got to be able to play. It’s not going to be the old Odell. It’s going to be a different version, the 2.0 Odell I guess you would say.”
Beckham is five receptions and three touchdown catches away from a tie at No. 3 on the Giants’ all-time lists in those respective categories, which are both held by running back Joe Morrison. Beckham would need five more touchdown catches to surpass Kyle Rote (48) and move into sole possession of second place in touchdown catches. Amani Toomer leads them all with 54.
