We are officially in the last week of the legislative session — and the mad dash to pass bills is underway. In the mix too is a push to change New York’s redistricting process in response to President Donald Trump’s efforts to encourage republican led legislatures to take up mid decade redistricting. Jack Arpey has been following this issue. Also, a bill that would implement a three-year moratorium introduced by state Sen. Liz Krueger and Assemblymember Anna Kelles (S9144A/A10141A) is currently being reworked as a single-year moratorium. Alex Beauchamp, Northeast region director of Food & Water, joined Capital Tonight’s Susan Arbetter to discuss why a moratorium is important.
