Suspect turns himself in after Manhattan shooting Saturday

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – The Riley County Police Department has arrested a suspect following a shooting in Manhattan on Saturday.

The shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Marlatt Avenue.

RCPD was called to the 1300 block of Marlatt Ave. just before 2:00 Saturday.

There, police found a 35-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered first aid until emergency crews arrived.

The man was transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka for the treatment of his serious injuries.

Riley County police arrested 38-year-old Jacques Toliver, of Manhattan, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, around 5:01 p.m.

RCPD said he was arrested after turning himself in without incident.

Toliver was arrested in connection with the following charges:

Attempted first-degree murderAggravated assaultCriminal discharge of a firearmCriminal damage to property

He was issued a $1 million bond and is confined in the Riley County Jail.

RCPD said the investigation remains active.
