RENSSELAER, N.Y. (WNYT)- New York State Police (NYSP) said a long-running narcotics investigation led to the arrest of two Brooklyn men and the seizure of drugs, a handgun and cash.

NYSP said Troop K Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) members arrested Lorenzo L. Moore, 45, and Markeim T. Lewis, 26, on May 29 after an investigation that began in November 2024.

Police said investigators developed information during the case that Moore and Lewis frequently used rail travel to further criminal activity.

Police said CSU members found both men after they got off a train and took them into custody without incident. According to NYSP, investigators recovered about 279 grams of crack cocaine, 54 grams of fentanyl, a Taurus .40 caliber handgun and $3,450 in cash.

Moore was charged with Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell.

Lewis was charged with Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell, Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Moore and Lewis were arraigned in City of Rensselaer Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail, according to NYSP.

NYSP said the investigation involved Troop K CSU, the Troop G Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team, State Police in Schodack, Latham and Brunswick, the Amtrak Police Department and the City of Rensselaer Police Department.
