Lily Allen and David Harbour have listed their marital home in Brooklyn for just under $8 million. The pop singer and “Stranger Things” actor got married in September 2020 and announced their separation in February, according to People.
Allen released her new album “West End Girl” on Oct. 24, and the lyrics were very telling, according to Realtor.com. In the title track, Allen sings, “Now I’m looking at houses with four or five floors / And you’ve found us a brownstone, said ‘You want it? It’s yours.’” She continues with, “So we went ahead and we bought it / Found ourselves a good mortgage / Billy Cotton got sorted / All the furniture ordered / I could never afford this / You were pushing it forward / Made me feel a bit awkward / Made me feel a bit awkward.” The lyrics indicate that Harbour really wanted the property even though Allen felt awkward that she had to rely on him to pay for at least part of it.
Don’t Miss:
Located in Carroll Gardens, the property was listed in October 2020 for $3.4 million, according to Zillow. Allen and Harbour scooped it up in February 2021 for $3.35 million. Nearly five years later, it’s been listed for $7.995 million — more than double what they paid for it.
“Nestled on one of the most sought-after blocks in Carroll Gardens, 381 Union Street is an enchanting, 22-foot-wide brownstone reimagined by AD100 designer Billy Cotton and architect Ben Bischoff of MADE. This late-19th-century townhouse unfolds across four levels. From its stately facade to its refined interior palette, the home is a layered narrative of traditional English charm, modern Brooklyn sensibilities and rich Italian influence,” says the Compass listing held by Carl Gambino.
The home features five bedrooms and four bathrooms across three stories. On the outside, this brownstone looks like any other, but you’re greeted to a whimsical living room that’s covered in wallpaper from French company Zuber. The flower- and bird-filled wallpaper is complemented by green trim, a green ceiling and even a green fireplace.

The eat-in kitchen is much more neutral. However, the primary bathroom boasts colorful wallpaper and carpet, as well as a fireplace. And for a serious pop, there’s a zebra-print carpet in the primary bedroom and entertainment room. The basement is fully finished and features a gym, a laundry room and various storage and closet areas.
On the street level, there’s a backyard — a not-so-common commodity in New York City — with a patio and garden area. There’s a sauna and cold plunge in the backyard, too, to get the most out of the space as possible. But in case you need more greenery, the property is located a three-minute walk from Carroll Park. It has three major sections, including a basketball court and baseball/kickball diamond, a playground with a compass-shaped spray shower for hot days and a shaded area with seating and public bathrooms.
Throughout Allen’s new album, she not so subtly hints that Harbour cheated during their marriage. She uses phrases like, “sex addict,” “double life” and “went astray,” according to Entertainment Weekly. So, we imagine that getting rid of this property will be a helpful step in her healing journey.
