Nikki Renée Daniels, Christine Andreas, More Will Celebrate Harold Arlen at Jazz at Lincoln Center

Songbook Sundays, created and hosted by Deborah Grace Winer, will continue at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club June 14 with
concerts celebrating the work of Harold Arlen.

Entitled Gotta Right to Sing Harold Arlen, the 5 PM and 7:30 PM concerts will feature the talents of two-time Tony nominee Christine Andreas (On Your Toes, Oklahoma!), Nikki Renée Daniels (Once Upon a Mattress, Company), and Benny Benack III.

Music director Richard Cummings will lead a band that includes Gene Torres on bass, Damon DueWhite on drums, Ed Jackson on alto saxophone, and Benack III on trumpet.

Attendees can expect to hear such Arlen classics as “The Man That Got
Away,” “One for My Baby,” “Over the Rainbow,” “Come Rain or Come
Shine,” and more. Arlen, perhaps best known for his score to The Wizard of Oz, also wrote the music for Broadway’s Bloomer Girl, St. Louis Woman, House of Flowers, Jamaica, and Saratoga.

Songbook Sundays, now in its fifth season, will subsequently offer a tribute to the late Tony Bennett August 9.
