The Yankees are seemingly preparing one of their young arms for the Bronx.
Hard-throwing Carlos Lagrange has been moved to the bullpen for the Triple-A Scranton Rail Riders, a source confirmed to the Daily News on Tuesday. Lagrange, the Bombers’ No. 4 prospect and second-best pitching prospect according to MLB Pipeline, has been starting all season, pitching to a 4.41 ERA in 11 starts.
However, the Bombers’ bullpen is in dire need of production and velocity. They seem to believe his starting pitching development can wait as they prepare to welcome Lagrange’s 103-mph fastball into Aaron Boone’s stable.
The 23-year-old right-hander with is inching closer to his MLB debut after this move.
