Chaka Khan just wrapped her iconic Queens Tour with fellow music legends Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle and Stephanie Mills — and she could not be happier.
According to Khan, 73, the schedule was grueling and the best part is that it’s “over.”
“It was tough. We haven’t toured like that in many years,” she told People in an interview published Tuesday, June 2. “It was a great show, and we had a great time working together. It was just a lot. We had a lot of intense traveling and intense work. So that’s my only problem with the whole thing.”

Khan added, “I love the fact that we were all up there working together.”
The women played their final stop on their year-long tour on Sunday, May 31, in Jacksonville, Florida. All four icons performed their biggest hits to sold-out audiences across the country.

“We all just respect each other and love each other. I’ve known Patti for a long, long time. [We’ve] been friends for a very long time, so it was nice to get back with her. And also Gladys is lovely,” the “Through the Fire” singer said.
Despite being lifelong friends, however, the tour was “totally work.”
“It was one stage to the next,” she explained.
