A man was found knifed to death inside a Bronx apartment building on Wednesday and cops are hunting for the bearded suspect who stabbed him, police said Thursday.
The victim was found dead with a knife wound to the chest in an apartment in the Longfellow Ave. building near Aldus St. in Longwood about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, sources said.
The lanky murder suspect, who has a thick beard and was wearing a black shirt, dark pants and sneakers, was caught on surveillance camera leaving the building. He was last seen running down the street, cops said.
Cops released images of the suspect Thursday in the hopes someone recognizes him.
The killing was one of two homicides to take place in the Bronx within a 13-hour span, cops said.
About 2:30 a.m. Thursday, a man was fatally shot in the chest and groin on Grand Concourse near E. 181st St. in Fordham. Like the stabbing victim, he had no ID on him and cops are still working to determine his identity.
By the end of May, there had been 37 murders in the Bronx, four less than by the same time last year, cops said.
Anyone with information on the stabbing suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
