BOERUM HILL — WHOLE FOODS has signed a lease for a new store at 182 Smith St. on the corner of Warren Street along the border of Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill, according to Crain’s New York and Brooklyn Bridge Parents.
The 35,000-square-foot site was formerly occupied by a Rite Aid, and before that, a J. Michaels furniture store. (A photo of the location from those days can be found on the McBrooklyn blog.) There is no official timeline for the opening yet, according to the publications.
Investors continue to buy up former Rite Aid sites since the chain’s bankruptcy.
