Members of the Paramus Police Department Crime Suppression Unit and patrol officers responded to a report of a shoplifting in progress at Marshalls in Bergen Town Center on Thursday, June 4, according to Police Chief Robert Guidetti.
Store loss prevention personnel, assisted by Officer Cassandra Gomez and Officer Nicholas Bucci, located the suspects in the mall parking lot with merchandise concealed in a pink-colored suitcase, the chief said.
Police recovered a total of 61 items, including 19 soccer jerseys, 23 pairs of Nike socks, 15 pairs of sneakers, and one luggage suitcase. The total value of the recovered merchandise was approximately $2,194.50, according to Guidetti.
The suspects were identified as Claudio Reinoso, 36, of the Bronx, and Jose Ynfante-Holguin, 46, of the Bronx, the chief said.
Reinoso was charged with second-degree shoplifting/organized retail theft and third-degree receiving stolen property. Ynfante-Holguin was charged with second-degree shoplifting/organized retail theft and third-degree receiving stolen property.
Both men were transported to the Bergen County Jail, where they were lodged pending their first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court, police said.
