As part of Spectrum News NY1’s primary election coverage, NY1 is hosting a Democratic Primary debate for New York’s 12th Congressional District, featuring Alex Bores, George Conway, Micah Lasher, Jack Schlossberg and Nina Schwalbe. This is part of NY1’s primary debate schedule, which also includes Democratic primary debates in NY-7, NY-10, NY-13 and the state comptroller’s race.
The five candidates qualified for the debate by meeting the 4 criteria for admission, which are raising at least $250,000 in total contributions, excluding in-kind contributions or loans, receiving at least 200 individual donations, spending at least $100,000, all according to the most recent (April 15) filings with the Federal Election Commission, and being on the ballot for the June 23, 2026 New York Democratic Primary.
NY1 Political Anchor Errol Louis, WNYC host Brian Lehrer, and WNYC senior politics reporter Brigid Bergin will serve as moderators for this 90-minute debate, which will take place on Tuesday, June 9. It will be streamed live at 7 p.m. statewide on all Spectrum News digital platforms, including the website, mobile app, connected TV app and YouTube channel. Non-Spectrum subscribers will be able to watch the debate on all of those platforms without a paywall.
