Mandatory NYC trash bins now cost more after prices for the required bins increased. The NYC Bin is now required for trash collection, with warnings only through Labor Day. No summonses will be issued for using your current bin until Sept. 8, but fines can follow after that. Prices now range from $50.50 for the 25-gallon bin to $62.77 for the 45-gallon bin. Property owners who don’t use an official NYC Bin after Sept. 8 could face fines of up to $200 for repeat violations.
