Norwood: Downed Tree Blocks Decatur Avenue Causing Some Damage to Parked Cars

A downed tree that fell at 3081 Decatur Avenue on Saturday evening, June 6, between East 204th Street and Mosholu Parkway in Norwood, is currently blocking the street from vehicular traffic.

The tree trunk did not appear to break but fell over after it uprooted.

EMERGENCY SERVICES ARE seen by residents at 3081 Decatur Avenue between East 204th Street and Mosholu Parkway in Norwood on Saturday evening, June 6, 2026 after a tree fell and blocked the street from vehicular traffic.

Residents said there were no injuries to their knowledge but some cars do appear to have incurred some damage, including a broken side mirror.

Residents said emergency services have been notified and are currently on scene. The sidewalk is passable but the street is currently cordoned off.

Residents said the forestry unit had recently inspected the trees on the block and apparently no major issues were raised.
