According to one police source, the NYPD are searching for two people who fled the the scene after a 23-year-old man was fatally shot multiple times in the Norwood section of The Bronx in the early hours of Monday morning, June 8.

 

A police spokesperson said that on Monday at 00.08 a.m., the NYPD responded to a report of an assault at the intersection of East 207th Street and Decatur Avenue.

 

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 23-year-old male with multiple gunshots wounds to the torso,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.”

According to police source, the NYPD are looking for two males who fled the location in a black BMW sedan, northbound, on Parkside Avenue. The motive or circumstances leading up to the shooting are currently unknown at this time, according to the same police source.

 

One young person who was later joined by two of his friends and who did not see the shooting but who said he heard around three shots fired when he was further away on Decatur Avenue came across the victim lying on the street face down around 6 minutes after he first heard the shots. He said he discovered the victim as he was walking back on Decatur in the direction of Parkside Avenue, and called the police.

 

He said the victim’s phone rang and it was the victim’s wife partner who inquired about the victim. The young person who discovered the body said he told the woman, “I think he’s dead.” Other residents said they heard a series of gunfire earlier but thought it was fireworks.
